Switching phones???

my father has a sprint plan and he has two phones and he wants to give one to me but if i dont like it can i buy another one and have it hooked up instead, also does the phone have be a sprint service phone cause i wanted the motorola v180?

As long as it's a Sprint branded/compatable phone then yes you can buy another and activated it on your account, the Moto v180 will not work being that Sprint uses CDMA technology and the V180 is a GSM phone.

about 1.5yrs ago i switched from verizon to sprint. i wanted to switch my phone over but i was told i wasnt able to. how do you find for sure if its a sprint branded/compatable phone, i believe my old phone would work with sprint and if im right what do i need to do to get it activated with sprint?

the verizon phone i want to use with sprint is the LG vx-6000
