I have a Audiovox 8920. Its programmed for Sprint, but I heard I could get it flashed to work on cricket. Can I do that myself using some kind of firmware, or is this something I need to take in and get done? If so how does one go about doing this? Thanks in advance.

You will need to get the code from Sprint to unlock the security functions and set it to 000000
I don't know cricket’s policy on non cricket phones being activated. Most CDMA providers these days will only let there own branded phones be activated.The best provider gives you a plan with the minutes you need at the right price. The coverage that you need to make calls all the time.
