I am a Cingular user who thinking about switching. Nothing that they've really done but just very high prices for data plans etc.

I'm in an area where we get pretty good reception from Cingular, TMO, Verizon and Sprint/Nextel. So all that being equal I am looking at prices and "bells and whistles" (I'm a gadget junkie).

The Sprint PCS streaming audio and video, esp Sirius satellite radio, has gotten my attention. If it actually works it would be worth the cost.

Anyone use this service on Sprint and have any info? Does it suck the life out of the phone battery to play music or watch TV? Do you have trouble keeping the signal?

Any personal experiences or advice is welcome.

It works perfectly. Sirius and TV on EVDO (high speed) phones is awesome. When our sound system in my store was being updated, we had out display Samsung A940 playing Sirius Hits all day. Sounds great.

As far as keeping the signal - shouldn't be a problem if you are within Sprint coverage area. With EVDO you never get that choppy playback.

Your choices are Samsung A940/A900/A920 or Sanyo MM-9000. All are EVDO. A920 is best for music and playing MP3's - it will be coming out within the next two weeks or so

    Thanks for the replies.

I'm primarily interested in it for the Sirius satellite radio. Options are either get a separate unit or just switch carriers and get Sprint.

Got a look at Verizon's V-Cast and while it was nice, it isn't really TV, just little video/sound bites. And no Sirius.

Looks like I may be needing to get a new phone due to the current RIM legal problems (currently have a Blackberry and love it). Definitely keeping an eye on the Sprint EVDO phones.
