How did you send it in? Check? Cash? Credit card? And did it show up, if it was anything other than cash?

Also did you have anything in writing to state what they would take vs what you actually owed? With no proof of payment, it's only going to be your word that it was sent in, over them not showing a payment.

Re: never going back to sprint

I had a similar problem with a hospital. They got all mad at me for not paying my bill and then I started getting collection notices and calls all the time. Boy, I'm never going back to that hospital, I had no idea not paying my bill on time and ignoring all those collection notices would be so much hassle!

Hmm... who is to blame here?

    1. You owe them money and that is Sprint's fault?

    2. Why didn't you confirm that the payment was received back in January?

    3. Again, I have to ask how is this Sprint's fault for you not paying your bill?

Maybe you need to explain the problem you are having with Sprint... I.E. be specific.

Re: never going back to sprint

The REAL leasson learned here is to pay your bill when due and avoid collections altogether. Even making partial payments, as long as accepted, may still result in late payment fees, but still better than collections and shows good will/willingness to pay. Bad credit returns to bite you in the butt when you do business elsewhere because they will require deposits. Welcome to Life 101.

I think this kind of sums it up. Put your complaint into a different perspective for a second. Person agrees to pay for services rendered, fails to pay until amount due goes to collections, person gets mad at debtor and tries to say the service was not good enough when he knows in fact the service was fine and him not paying his bill was the problem. It would be kind of silly to refuse to go back to the emergency room when you cut your thumb off because their bill collectors were harassing you, especially if that's your fault to begin with. Pay all your bills on time or at least call to make arrangements before it goes to collections, you'll never have to deal with another bill collector again.
