Re: Hate sprint? Get out free.
this is what makes America great the ability to disagree. I on the other hand dislike Verizons service with a passion. I had them for 3 weeks or so before I just said forget it. Call quality wasnt the best, rates were soso, but what soured me on verizon is the way they hamstring their phones. I had a razr and functions that should have been free, well verizon was charging for them. So yeah sprint has problems but I can live with them

Re: Hate sprint? Get out free.
I had Nextel for over 10 years, and when they merged I've had Sprint since. Because I travel to Europe a few times a month, and I wanted to get a better phone, I looked into the Blackberries from Sprint.
I see for a new customer, you can purchase the 8830 for $199. But for me, someone whose been a loyal customer for so many years, averaging over $100/month in that time, to upgrade to the 8830 is $549!
So long time, loyal customers are penalized, while someone whose never given them a cent gets a phone for almost 70% discount.
When I talked to them, they just said that's their policy and all carriers do the same thing. They said I could quit the service, but I have close to 1 1/2 years left on my contract which I would be liable for.
Please, any advice is greatly appreciated. Talk about kicking your customers in the face, unbelievable.

Re: Hate sprint? Get out free.
first of all you have to PROVE you live outside the sprint coverage area before they will let you cancel with no etf.
second..Mas215
I have been shopping at wal mart for 25 years, so does that mean they should give me what I want for being such a 'loyal' customer?
When you sign up with sprint you have an activation fee, some people have a deposit and then you have to purchase the phone..that is why they give discounts to new customers..most people would not be able to get service at all if they had to pay full price for the phone..I am sure when you joined nextel 10 years ago you got a discount for signing up. Also, they do care about their long time customers..that is where the upgrade rebate comes in. Every 2 years you get $150 off of any phone of your choice.

Darn, I wish I had of found this forum earlier. Sprint is horrible, I have been with them for 5 years and have had the worst experience ever. If you want to read the 10 page story of the crap I went though and the mails they sent me do a search on this forum for "Sprint Disgraceful". I would post a link but I'm to new to allow hyperlinks.
