Is having a Power Vision capable phone require you subsribe to a Power Vision option ?
OK - current plan supports 4 lines, 3 have vision plans. Thinking of upgrading to a Samsung M610 which is a Power Vision Capable phone. However not interested in utilizing P-V services ( TV, Music. etc) , just my current vision plan ( free) for texting and pictures. Sprint CS states this new phone REQUIRES I upgrade to a P-V option for this line for $15/mo even if I only want basic vision service.
is this true?

Yes, if you have a powervision phone, you must have a powervision plan. For basic access only, the price is the same, $15, but picture and video mail cost $20.

Re: Power Vision Plan required for PV capable phone?
thanks, well sort of . I suppose in Sprints wisdom as they announce the lay off of 5000 employees today, the genius of this type of marketing mandate is an example of why people are leaving Sprint, in search of more user friendly basic service. Not evryone wants all the bells and whistles, guess I'll update instead to a plain vision phone. Interestingly, I had a long converstion with a CS rep by phone about this issue, altho he did waive the $36 per phone activation fee on my bill for upgrading 2 other phones ( whoopie), he stated Sprints intention was to market the higher priced plans ands gamble the subscribers would follow.
