If you have a plan that costs $34.99 a month or more, you may qualify for a $75 discount after one year or a $150 discount after two years. The discount is taken off the full price of the phone. For example, the Motorola RAZR V3m is listed as $249.99. If you have been a customer for 24 months and you have a qualifying rate plan, you will get $150 off, making your cost $99.99. If you upgrade on-line, they will waive the $18 activation fee.
Note that upgrading your phone will renew your contract for two more years and may require changes to your plan depending on the model of phone you choose. Note also that doing an
ESN swap at any time for any reason resets the time frame for upgrading. That, is, if you are 8 months into a contract and you replace your phone for whatever reason, the calender will reset to zero, and you will not be eligible for any discount for one more year from that point.
Nextel: Upgrades
(Yes, I know the link says "Nextel", but I guess Sprint is being slow about changing everything.)
