Re: how to flash sprint phones to boost unimited
you can but it's a catch 22 situation. I called and called and called. What I found out is that if you TELL them what you are trying to do....they can't. so armed with that info I called again and told the operator that I wanted to activate a different phone. she asked for the phone info from behind the battery and when I gave it she identified it as a sprint phone and told me they wouldn't be able to guarantee it's proper function or provide technical support for it. I told her that was fine and she directed me through the flashing process. It's a Sprint A900 I had had from years ago and it works great. What had been stressed to me by a supervisor prior to getting it done was that since I had specifically told them it was not a boost phone they were not allowed to do it. So just call over and over again and don't specify the phone type until you get someone in customer service to do it for you.
boost offers 2 types of service boost unlimted (walkie talkie nextel) and unlimited by boost (sprint non sim card service). most of the customer service reps are hardly aware of this.

Re: how to flash sprint phones to boost unimited
ravens:
i just tried to do what you are saying with a sprint palm treo 700wx and went through the motions, even gave him my ESN DEC and then at the final step he said the only phones he could activate are the W385, KRZR, and whatever other CDMA phones Boost uses. I don't understand how you got this to work. Was the guy just not wanting to activate it or something? When did you actually try to do this?
I'd really like to get this phone working on Boost if possible, as I am sure others would as well. I made no mention of the phone type but on the rep's end he knew it was not a boost phone and would go no further with me. What do you (or anyone else) think I should do?
-------------
ok i called back. this time they told me sometimes they have people call up trying to activate phones that are flashed to boost mobile. this also makes no sense to me. why would you even have to flash one of these phones since its already sprint? and even still he could not do it because it is not one of the approved phones, supposedly. he also said they periodically audit the database of activated phones and if they see a non-boost phone they will delete it from the system. so i am getting some seriously conflicting information here. i am starting to think this IS possible, but I don't really know EXACTLY what to tell them when I call. The guy also said they can tell the phone model by the beginning digits of the ESN#. Do I need to buy a Boost phone and then switch the account to my Treo (although I don't see how this would make any difference because it seems like I was doing essentially the same thing except I was trying to re-activate a phone)?
Why are they being so difficult?!?! They could be making money off me!Last edited by halninek; 01-03-2010 at 11:05 PM. Reason: Auto-merged Double post

Hey buddy, I have a sprint Touch Pro2, and I want to activate it with boost mobile. Do I just get a boost mobile 50 dollar plan and put the sim card in my phone and thats it? Or do I have to unlock something?

Re: how to flash sprint phones to boost unimited
I have a BoostMobile phone the Blackberry 8330 (the only BlackBerry they support), but it does not do what I need it to do. The phone that does do everything is the Blackberry 8530, which is a Sprint phone. How the H___ can I use the 8530 on Boost Mobile?
Both Phones are CDMA, and have almost the same feautres, except that the 8530 has more on board memory, supports up to 32 GB of MicroSD memory, and a much much faster processor.
So In a nutshell how can a CDMA Sprint phone be flashed/unlocked so that it will work on the BoostMobile CDMA Network?
Who has done this?
Was it successful?
For how long did it, or has it worked for?
HOW was this done? Service, software, Store, a person, etc ???
HOW can anyone else do this?
THanks for any information that will help with this.

Re: how to flash sprint phones to boost unimited
Hey everyone! It is possible! Sprint Phones such as EVO Fully Flashed to Boost Mobile. But the price is 80.00. I found someone that does it, but it requires you to have your phone shipped to them and then they mail it back to you. This is my last resort if I cannot find someone to do it locally. I am sick and tired od Metro PCS and Criket, their phones and cell phones and plans I do not agree with at all. *thumbs down*
Boost mobile is Sprint, Sprint is Boost mobile, Sprint basically owns them. A lot of people do not know this.
