#1 | | Junior Member | My contract with T-mobile expired today.
I need a phone that I can use as modem to get on internet on my laptop.
Currently, I only pay $5.99/mo for the T-mobile data plan but speeds are too slow..I know sprint, Verizon, ATT have good speeds.
So, question is:
Which network provider has the fastest internet speeds ?
I'm basically choosing between sprint, verizon and ATT ...just want to know which one you all recommend out of the 3

I can't post links as my post count is 4 and I need 5 more to be able to do this. Anywho, if you type in Google.com "4G mobile internet" you will find when it was established and who is the premier worker in this development. Hope this helps.

Yes, Sprint is pretty fast. EV-DO Rev.A is on most of their network now. If you get a Sero plan, SERO Welcome! "savings@sprintemi.com", you get PDA and cell phone data for free.

#7 | | Phone Maniac | They say it depends on the phone, My internet was a lot fast on my sprint treo 755p, than my sprint treo 700p. Now with this sprint samsung KILLER INSTINCT, its support to be a lot faster than the treo 755p/iphone, But for some reason with my INSTINCT..I see no difference than the internet on my sprint treo 755p.

#9 | | Newbie | last time I checked...at&t 3g download speed was 1.4 mbps and Sprint's 3g Evdo-Rev A was 3.1...No competition here! Sprint wins hands down!

#10 | | Junior Member | I don't think anyone can generalize and give you an answer as to which carriers' 3g is the fastest. It all depends on the phone you use, as well as the area you are in. Every carriers has markets where 3g speeds are better/worse, depending on the network setup, backhaul and network use. If you give us an area where you plan on using your 3g service we can probably help you out better.
If I had to chose a 3g service today, I would not consider at&t because of their lack of 3g coverage outside of large metro areas.

Just because they say that speed does not mean you are going to throttle that high.

#12 | | Member | Use this to find out what speeds are available in your area Sprint - Nationwide Coverage and on the right side of the page there is a button that says "data, email and multimedia" click that and then put in your address at the top of the page, and you will see what kind of connectivity are in your area.... after the data box expands, click on the word "speeds" above the color codes and it will bring up a pop-up telling the approximate speeds you will see in a given area... now remember if you are roaming on US cellular then you will have the slowest of their roaming partners, which US Cellular's data runs at a max of 56kbps (dial-up speed).
Hope this helps, Chris | | |
