I want a new phone.

Hey everyone! It's my first post here...:-D

I've been with sprint for about 2 years now and am quite happy with them. It's expensive because I have just about every add-on there is but I use it all so I don't mind too much.

However, sadly, my beloved Fusic is on its last leg. Sprint screwed up my plan and, to make me happy (which they did!), they gave me a new Centro for the "new contract" price of only 100 bucks a week after it came out! I was reluctant to do this since I love my Fusic but it was a good deal so I did. I didn't really care for it much so, after the Centro got messed up, I used my insurance to get a new one for 50 bucks and put it on ebay as soon as I got it...didn't even open it. It sold for $250 within 10 hrs and I bought a Palm T|X...lol I re-activated my beloved Fusic and decided to use it until it died or I found a better phone.

Well...that time is just about here. The Fusic's battery life is just about gone, the charging plug has to be put in just right for it to charge, the phone resets at will, etc.

I need help picking a new phone. I like the Samsung M520 but I'm kinda wary of new phones. I am also considering the Fusic's brethren, the Musiq but, again...I'm not sure. Anyone use either of these? How do you like them?

Here's what I really want to know. What's the deal with unlocked phones and phones from other networks? My girlfriend got a Treo off eBay that was unlocked and it worked great so I know it's possible to use unlocked phones with Sprint. What are my options when it comes to unlocked phones and phones from other networks? What phones should I look for? Can I use any AT&T (which seems to be THE carrier when it comes to cool phone selection), t-mobile, etc phones?

Sprint's selection of phones SUCKS right now. I hear that Sprint has a bunch of new phones coming out in June...any idea what or when?

I'd LOVE to be able to use one of the new Sony Ericsson phones that are coming out like this one...

infosyncworld(dot) com/news/n/9019(dot) html

...it says "carrier: unlocked" on that page. What's that mean? Does Sony Ericsson just sell these phones for people to use on whatever service or what?

I guess my basic question is am I really limited STRICTLY to sprint phones? Anyone have any phone recommendations? I need:

GPS - an absolute must
Camera - and a good one...I take TONS of random pics.
Internet browsing - this is one thing the Fusic does VERY well. It's fast and renders pages quite well...a must for me cuz I wear it out...

Any help appreciated! Thanks!

I have the Instinct and recommend it, so far I love it..... check out the official sprint Samsung Instinct website to see what it can do... it is $129 after rebate.... at least at the corporate stores....
