#1 | | Sr. Member | I have a friend that works for Sprint and he says Sprint is still allowing customers to get Sero plans. I have one and it is nice being you get lots of free content.
If anyone is looking to get one, use the info below. SERO Welcome!
Email Address:savings@sprintemi.com
I bring this up because with all of the new plan changes Sprint has been going through, the Sero might not be around for much longer.

Nextel is bleeding customers because of the forced spectrum swap demanded by the government. Sprint fired lots of American reps, and hired Indian and Filipino reps instead. Sprint got rid of their Fair and Flex plans, and just started selling basic plans. Sprint basically shot themselves in their foot. So right now, they need customers badly.
The Sero is a good way to add customers. So even if that address stopped working; it would be a huge mistake to not allow new customers to take advantage of the Sero. Maybe when they get their services back up to the way they were 2 years ago, paying full price would be worth it again. Right now though Sprint needs the Sero.

Ever since then, the new company has been about saving money and offering discount. If you have a problem, heres a discount to keep your mouth shut about it. Instead of just correcting the problem. So Sprint can get rid of the Sero, that won't change the fact that due to their price cutting, they now have the worst customer care and their network is falling apart. I had the Sero, and from the people I know, the Sero is still being offered to some people. But I have now left Sprint completely. So I no longer care what they do. The only way I would consider going back, is if Sprint fired their outsourced customer care and hire all American reps. But that won't happen. So Sprint will continue to die until they are so cheap that some Korean carrier buys them and changes the name. Extremely sad but it is 100% Sprint's fault, but still 100% correctable.
I had more loyalty for Sprint then most people. But that loyalty was killed.

Like most us carriers, about 30-40% is outsourced.
I hate the idea over outsourcing "any" CS reps.
As far as the lay off's, well it just corporate store's. (Good)
Dealer have been much more helpful.
My two cents | | |

My two cents | Verizon an T-Mo don't have any outsourced reps that I know of. That is why they win awards every single year. The American companies that I know of that have some outsourced CC, use them for nighttime service calls. Sprint uses outsourced during the day as well as night. They wanted to save money and it bit them in the butt. I used to be loyal, and I used to defend Sprint like a mad man. Ask anyone that knew me over at Sprintusers. But the outsourced reps that Sprint has now are, honestly, and harshly, stupid. Other CC centers spends weeks training their reps. I have spoken to people over at Sprint that didn't even know what GPS was, or how to reset a phone. Basic things. So unless that ratio changes to 100% American, I'm not going back to Sprint. I'm tired of hearing "Can you please repeat that sir?", "I'm sorry sir, I don't know which feature your referring to.", and the classic "Can you hold on for a minute sir so I can take a look at your account?" CLICK! Hung up on!

#9 | | Mobile Maestro | I just want to add here the only way to get the old sero plans is to have an account tranfered. If you can find someone who has one and does not want it well ask them for it and sprint can tranfer it.

If you can find someone who has one and does not want it well ask them for it and sprint can tranfer it. | What's messed up is that I had a Sero plan that I was looking to transfer and no one got back with me, so I just left. It was a nice plan. It even had a 10% loyalty discount and free txt messaging. But when I posted the info, people said they weren't looking to switch over to Sprint, even if the plan was a Sero. The big problem with Sprint is that their customer care isn't handled through them. The USA part is handled by TAG (The Answer Group). And you can't use any of their info to get the discount. You have to know someone working for the core company. So in the early days the Sero's were given out freely, but now Sprint is cracking down. So finding someone is more difficult. I knew people that used the email addresses you can find in the news releases to get Sero's. Others used email addresses for people that no longer worked for Sprint. So that is most likely why getting the Sero's is so much harder. You can still get it, for now. You just need to know the right info.
And a word of advice. If you get a Sero, don't ask for anymore discounts. They will audit your account and look for any reason to close it down. I have read rants and complaints of morons getting the Sero, nagging for discounts and freebies, calling in $10 worth of dropped calls credits, and then having their accounts permanently disabled forever. Or getting the Sero, tethering illegally and having their accounts charged for all that extra data access.
So if your lucky enough to get the Sero, don't rock the boat.
