    Hi all,

Newbie here and didn't locate an answer via search, so I thought I'd ask.

I'm a legacy SERO plan holder (500 min + unlimited text/data) for $30. I've got the LG Muziq, but am really interested in the upcoming Palm PRE.

Since I'm cheap, I'd love to keep the plan I'm on, but upgrade the phone at some point. Is there a way to swap my phone without altering my plan? I'm guessing that if I bite on the upgrade via sprint, they'll tell me that I need an everything plan despite the fact that I already have everything at a minimum of double the price.

I was thinking that some point in the future, one may be able to purchase a PRE sans contract and that I could simply activate it as a new phone. Does anyone know if that will work. Even if I decide to just go with an instinct or blackberry?

If that's not doable, I'll just stick with what I've got. I'm cheap!

Thanks for any responses in advance!

Generally, when you upgrade they'll do everything in their power to force you to get the newest plans.

In some cases, it may be required. While in others, you may get out of the plan change.

I believe the phone you want is a smartphone while the one you have is not...if that's true, it will require a newer plan...

What if I just buy a used phone off ebay or something like that or one that's not connected to a contract? Would it just be a matter of activating my new phone - or would activation prompt a review of my plan and force me to 'upgrade?' Thanks.
