After waiting on the phone with Sprint Customer Service for what seemed like an Eternity, I was wondering what's the fastest way/alternative to check an ESN? I can't do a Sprint ESN swap, since I don't use Sprint's website without an account. However, I still have to check these ESNs for work.

The only third party that does ESN checks for Sprint that comes to mind and google search would be CheckESN.com.
I actually checked out that site since I work for a used cell phone dealer. We actually use that site if the shipments we get are too big for a few people to go on the phone to check the ESNs one by one. Even online chat takes awhile since you can't really justify asking a guy from CS to check a hundred or so ESNs in one sitting. Economically, the service does save you time and money from the perspective of a manager who uses a large firm.
However, if you're just a guy who lives in his mom's house and buys and sells used phone on Craigslist and Ebay, then I wouldn't recommend it for them.
Thank god for expense accounts and corporate America.
I managed to convince my boss to use Check ESN - we can check your ESN and we managed to move our used phone inventory a lot faster, instead of having me spend a whole day on the phone phoning Sprint.
Yeah and the funny thing is that since we process so much inventory, CheckESN becomes part of the manufacturing overhead. Basically, this means less work and less taxes. I might actually get a bonus for this.

Plus, you save the company money and time in the long run since you don't have to get someone (like a paid or unpaid intern) to call Sprint on company time. Fast process equals more time to make more money. Damn right, you deserve it. Hard to believe you can get a bonus for just passing the buck, but THANK GOD FOR CORPORATE AMERICA!!!
Are you sure a site like CheckESN.com is legitimate? I mean, I would assume that Sprint would already have a function like that, but free or at least cheaper. Instead, you have to rely on a third party. I mean how do you know it's not a scam.
About 9 an hour. We hired a college intern to do it. Granted, it was somewhat cheaper in some ways, depending largely on volume. However, the issue was that it just took too damn long since we were constantly getting new inventory.
