good internet bad voice

hey my brother was telling me that his phone has a bad voice connection but the internet connection is just fine so am just wondering if anyone knows why that could be, he says he doesn't get a good evdo connection but he gets a good normal connection

just wanted to ask for him he's busy with work and stuff.

Your statement is quite confusing? Data (internet) is carried over the EVDO and voice is carried over 1x, if he has bad EVDO connection the internet would suffer.

Your problem is common. The voice is carried over land lines by the local phone companies. If there is bad cable in the ground, the voice quality will suffer. It happens all the time where I live in certain areas. Try making calls in a different city and see if it continues. The data should be fine because you don't know how good the quality is, you only notice speed variation.

If the problem is persistent, call the carrier and see if it might be the handset, but it's highly unlikely.
