If the truth were known - screen protectors are needed - about as much as a fifth wheel on your vehicle. Take a second from your busy life - and dwell on this. You paid a decent buck for your device - thus - you obviously care a good deal for it - having no intentions of allowing anything to happen to it. Walk to your residence windows and peer out at the ocean; the mountains; the islands off in the distance (or - if you're like us - the house next door).
In doing so - look closely at the inside and outside of the glass? Do you see any scratches? Any digs - from the constant flying debris in the air - such as the pelting rain - snow or hail? Has the wind blown any leaves - sticks - sand - twigs - (or anything else flying around out there 24-7-365) - into your windows and damaged even one? We bet not. (Obviously - not counting hurricanes: and even hurricanes never scratch or marr the glass. If any damage is done by a storm - it breaks the glass. Glass is tough).
Truth is - your windows are mark-less - (other than the dirt - you keep saying you need to wash off - but never get around to). Our windows suffer attacks 24-7 - yet are in mint condition - yet the glass on a touch screen device – is more resilient to scratches - than even your windows. So then what - exactly - do you plan on subjecting your cherished - expensive device to - that is going to - out-of-the-blue - damage the screen??? Keys? Are we to believe - that if your keys are pressed hard enough against your device glass WITH a screen protector on it - it won't slice right through the alleged screen protector - and scratch your screen also??? And what is the likelihood keys will get near your iPad or other large screen device? You might want to think that one over.
THINK ABOUT THIS
Anytime we put anything - between two items that have a default of nothing being between them - the results will suffer greatly. Try picking up a needle with gloves on. Try typing - with mittens on. Kiss your child (or mate) with a piece of thin paper between your mouth. Lay a 4 x 8 sheet of 1/4 " plywood on top of that great mattress you have and see how comfortable it is NOT. Stop cleaning your car windshield for three months and see how well you can't see out. And how thin of a layer of dirt will be on the window? Far thinner - than a screen protector - yet your vision to the street - will be cut 75%. Imagine sticking a small sandwich bag in your mouth when eating - and instead of the food being put in your mouth - it goes into the baggie - in your mouth. What exactly - will you get out of that? Nothing. No accurate feeling. And no taste.
More thought has to be given to screen protectors. In order to really protect anything - they have to have some thickness to them. It is THAT VERY THICKNESS - that severely restricts your bodies electricity (capacitance) from getting TO the screen. This can't help but create countless MIS-activations
However - because we cannot accept any responsibility for your device or device screen - we cannot recommend or request you remove your screen protector - or not buy one. We can say however - "do the math!" Isn't that special "case" you bought for your device – totally protecting it? 99% of all iPad and other large screen device owners – have some type of case for their device – that has a cover over the screen - NEVER allowing anything near it when closed - and when opened - you're using it - so what's going to happen then? A case that protects your device from all sides - is all one needs.
If you stop and think about it - the whole time you're NOT using your device - the case/cover is protecting the entire pad/tablet 100% - and far more than any screen protector ever could. Therefore - the only time your screen could be subject to scratches - is when you're using it and the case/cover is opened. That being factual - are you - while using it - going to scratch it? Of course not. The only thing you ever let touch the screen - is your finger or stylus - and none of our stylus have the ability to scratch anything - let alone - a piece of glass. The use of a screen protector WITH a covered case - is just NOT needed. (FYI: If you're looking for a "pointed stylus" - now you have something to be concerned about scratching glass).
As well - screen protectors cut as much as 90% of our body-capacitance - from reaching the screen. This will - in-turn create occasional MIS-ACTIVATIONS when you touch whatever - with ANY stylus. The truth is - Stylus-R-Us has had numerous customer emails - telling us they've removed their screen protector - and are so much happier with it off – and how their device works far better. Screen protectors - are a total waste of money - and nearly impossible to put on satisfactorily - without bubbles and dust under them. And the reality is - how do you like having to touch the same icon or character two - three - four times - to get it to activate? No one likes that. Screen protectors are one of the things that cause that. Rubber tipped stylus - another. CLICK ON EMAILS

Screen protectors are just another money making item hundreds of companies are adding to their inventory - to jump on the touch-screen industry $band wagon$. The reality is - you don't need a screen protector. Also know - that if your device is one of the newer ones that has the new GORILLA GLASS - the chances of you scratching it - even deliberately - would be very difficult. That's why it's called Gorilla glass.

Will our stylus work on screen protectors? Seventy-five percent of them - yes. However - where there are hundreds of different screen protectors on the market – it's not financially feasible to buy and try them all - though the majority work with our stylus. This is not to say - you need or should have a screen protector - because we're against them. The fact they restrict as much capacitance as they do - even though a stylus works on them - there is still a serious loss. If you buy our stylus and it doesn’t work with the screen protector you have - just return the stylus for a refund per our refund policy. Or - you can remove the screen protector as others have done - which is a far better choice.
Truth is - 99.99% of any glass screen damage - occurs when the user is NOT using the device - such in transit or storage. Any time a book cover type case engulfs a device - protection is at its highest. While you're using the device - unless something falls from above - how could a screen get damaged? Obviously - it can't. Common sense dictates - if we insert anything foreign - between two items that normally don't have anything between them for the ultimate usage - it can't help but cut down the best possible usage. If hair on a male body slows a swimmer during a speed race - make no mistake about it - sticking a thin piece of plastic between the icon activator and the screen - seriously severs the body capacitance. Its honestly abundantly frustrating for SRU - to know this; to have received countless emails from customers like above - and hear their excitement of using our stylus on their device - yet until one actually removes theirs - this is only taken as a sales pitch. Though not as serious - in the family of trying to warn a loved one or friend to stop smoking or using drugs or whatever - when we know they are doomed - and they won't listen.
YOU DON'T NEED A SCREEN PROTECTOR IF YOU.....
* Have a case that has a folding/screen cover - that covers the device when not in use.
* Love your device and take good care of it.
* Never subject the device to or around anything that could possibly scratch it.
* And you don’t need a screen protector with any of our stylus.

Re: The bad - by far outweighs the good on screen protectors
Your welcome paulc dj. Let me add here - that recently we ran into a screen protector that appears to be 99% trouble free and maybe 100%. I'm talking - we tried our stylus on an iPad (in a mall) with a GHOST ARMOR - screen protector on it - and didn't see any decline in conductivity from our stylus to the screen. They claimed it was made of some type of "rubber" obviously thin and clear but it was amazing.
Does this mean we're changing our tune from this post? Not in the slightest - as we still know and promote no screen protector. It only means that if you are one that MUST have a screen protector - our stylus work incredible with this brand.

Very thought provoking. I tend to take off any screen protectors when I buy a new phone, but other people in my family will leave them on for months, even years! Ill have to share this with them.

I agree that having a fold over case does the same job, perhaps even better considering I recently dropped mine when it was closed and avoided cracking the screen. Overall though some people will still buy screen protectors because they like accessorizing everything they own!
