Currently last month I was in the market for a new laptop (currently halfway saved toward it) when after getting stranded in the middle no where Pennsylvania with no cell phone, I decided a laptop could wait while I got a new cell.
After Putzing around online for a while, I then began to find some
PDA like Cell phones that might be able to suit both my needs. (wanted a laptop for portable writing and to check AIM/email, which it seems now, that a cell phone/
pda like unit would be a cheaper and smaller alternative)
I went to a convention last weekend in Philly, and several people had sidekicks there and it seemed like a very useful tool and would fit my need. So far, T-Mobile phones seem to be leading the way in what I would want
But the biggest problem for me is that I am a college student. I'm in Reading PA and Worchester MA at different parts of the year. (go PSU!) So I'm wondering if roaming costs would be a problem.
Also, remembing the college student part, with the exception of the summer time, I have no employment. I have enough saved up presently to pay for 2 years of service, but I'd like to save as much as I can (who doesn't).
My sister also would like to get a phone, and we are looking at a family deal here potentially too. Which could help costs as she would make the majority of phone calls, while I would use the service for electronic means.
Any advice, comments, complants, ect? :>
