T-Mobile Prepaid Service

Yes, I am a newb when it comes to the cell phone business. I was looking on t-mobiles site and I saw that they have added the Motorola V300 to the prepaid choices but its $200. I would like to know what is an unlocked phone and could I just buy a Motorola V300 on ebay for less and use it for T-Mobile's Pay As You Go Service. If so what would I have to do to get it to work?

- Any Motorola V300 you find on ebay that was originaly purchased from T-Mobile will work with the pre-paid plan.

- If you buy an UNLOCKED V300 it doesn't matter were it's from because it will work on any network, any service.

- If you buy a V300 from cingulair for example, and it's not unlocked, you will need to get it unlocked, which may cost you more money. Look for unlocking kits and services on ebay, there are hundreds.

Ok...i did the same thing your doing...Heres the Deal...Look for the phone on ebay make sure it IS unlocked or it will cost more money to unlock. After you get the phone take it to a t-mobile dealer they will charge you $30 for a SIM card..which is like your phones memory...the $30 will also include avtivation to T-Mobile and there Service. (You can now use the phone) You will then be able to buy top-up T-mobile cards from local retailers to add minutes to your phone. When you activate they should give you around 60 minutes toward your phone included with activation. Hope this helps you!
