blocking text SPAM

I'm being charged for text messages from people I don't know. I just got my T-Mobile phone and lots of SPAM text messages I'm being charged 5 cents each for. I used their spam filters to block, say any "from" that didn't contain the letter Q or any "to" that had a @ in it. I have 12 filters to try to block everything but they're still getting through. Advice?

I can't get a straight answer from T-Mobile but it may be that some messages are from T-Mobile itself and they're charging me for them. That sounds crazy to me to have to PAY for T-Mobile Spam.

I'd consider signing up to get a certain number of text messages a month but not if their spam filters don't work.

Has anyone come across this?

Yeah I have been getting spam from a .gov address with them asking if I want a free $500 payday, or house offers. The only thing I found you can do is ride it out, eventually if you don't respond to any of those e-mails they will stop sending them (thinking that it a dead or unused e-mail address) it sucks if you don't have unlimited text messaging which I advise you buy, or you may be able to fight back and try to close their mail server from sending spam you could report it to aol even if you don't have aol, or check with t-mobile to see if you can report it to them. Also check to see if you can block it through your t-mobile website. I haven't tried this but it can't hurt.

Unfortunately SPAM is a growing problem that has been an issue all over the world, I check the news about cell phones overseas because they are ahead of us in this industry with Japan leading as having the most problems with SPAM

To date because spam arrives in the same manner as your voice messages it cannot be stopped but management is aware of the issue and are looking for solutions to the problem, what we are basically telling customers is that we cannot block text messages but can change your mobile number, just as this is an issue with you receiving spam on your computers because the service is now offering features like computers such as text messages, faxmail there are those that will abuse it

It's best to filter just the name of the sender I did that and it worked for me
