I recently have been getting calls from an unknown caller... This caller has been calling my number repeatedly for the past 2 months. I have called T-mobile customer service and they say they can not block this number.

I went to the Police to file a report on this person who'se been calling me. I don't have any idea who this might be. The police guessed it was someone playing a prank, I played a message from them and then the police inidcated that perhaps it was someone very high on drugs (based on how they sounded I guess). Oh, they (this person) also stated my name on my voice mail... I think they got it from the two times I called them and tried to reason to them not to continut to call me... The number of the person calling me is (248) 396-8710.

Is there any way I can:
    1. either block the number from calling me in the future

    or
    2. Have the cell company block this number (the police said the cell companies have this capability, T-mobile customer service said they do not).

    or
    3. find out who this person's provider is and have them get "cancelled".

I plan to go back to the police one more time, but they don't seem to take this seriously... Neither did T-mobile customer care.

I wish t-mobile would just cover the costs of changing my number....

    All thoughts are appreciated.

    Thanks much,

    John

well, you can keep calling the t-mobile customer every new shifts, or keep bothering to do something about it, or you can keep bothering the police to tell the t-mobile to help you
or ignore the caller everytime he calls

Some phones can set a Custom ringer for different numbers that call you. If your phone has this capability, enter the phone number in your phone book and set Custom Ringer to "None".

Now when he calls your phone won't ring. He'll soon get tired of talking to the Voicemail that you will delete without listening when you see what number it is from.

Also try to get the police to do their job, but don't hold your breath.

Here is a web page that you can try to search for a name and address for your caller.

Don't change the ringer to none change it to silent. Also you can filter out his # if he desides to start sending you text messages. And by the way that's a Detriot Clarkston and maybe part of Auburn Hills # so if you know anyone from there I suggest you find them and beat them senseless.

T-Mobile doesn't charge you to change your mobile number, and currently there isn't a way to block a number from calling you, whether you know the number or not. The only defense against this currently, is to change the mobile number free of charge, which can be done within usually minutes of making the request. Again... FREE of charge...... (or if you have a Motorola phone or phone that allows you to assign ringtones/settings per single contact, as someone stated above put the number in your phonebook as a *, but hold it down for a few seconds to get a pause/P, and that should also work if you set that contact not to ring.....

You can also call the National DO not call registry from your cell phone and your number will automatically be entered on the list. I have done this for both my house and all cells. And I no longer receive anymore pesky calls. Takes 30 days to fully take effect, and if they call you after that 30 days, they can get a fine for up to $5000.

general consensus is true, cell carriers have no way to block a number from calling you either (not the first time a police department has been wrong). I work for T-Mobile customer care, we get many requests with just this issue but there is no way we can help out and block the number. I have changed many numbers on the spot for callers who are getting harassed. I usually give them some bonus minutes too because they havnt invited this invasion to use up their airtime.

T-Mobile CC can be reacehd by hitting 661 on your phone. Open 24/7 too!

change your number it's FREE... though sucks if you know a lot people and need this as a part of your business life... fwd the call to the fbi not your local police force... they could then take it more seriously..

I did a search on whitepages.com and this is what comes back.

"We're sorry. We did not find a listing for the phone number you entered.
The phone number "(248) 396-8710" is a Pontiac, MI based phone number and the registered carrier is Sprint Spectrum L.p. However, due to number portability, some numbers have been transferred to a new service provider other than the registered carrier. "
