Can Anyone Explain AIM Charges and T-Zones?

I signed up for the AIM forwarding for my Samsung x475, but in just two days "My T-Mobile" says I've already used up 31 message credits! I turned off the forwarding.. does that mean it won't send me anymore IMs? And if I sign on to AIM through my computer will it still charge me? Do you think I should delete my phone number from aim.com entirely to ensure that I don't have overcharges?

Secondly.. I'm a little confused about T-Zones. Do I need it to download ringtones and wallpapers.. or is my 300 text messaging service enough? I bought a couple of ringtones yesterday through T-Mobile, and they just sent me a "download" text. I clicked on it, and it logged on to T-Zones automatically. I was a little worried that I would get charged per minute to use T-Zones. Is this the case.. or do I just get charged a text message credit each minute I'm logged into T-Zones?

I'd appreciate any and all help!

God Bless Always,

Jenny

hey JJenny!

When you have AIM forwarded to your handset if does come in as a text message.. and will count toward your txt usage.. but there is a way to avoid that. Your phone should have AIM included on it (most do) If you connect via the little AIM app on the phone its like using the internet to connect. it uses GPRS to let you chat. This is the same thing that makes T-Zones work.

IF you have added the T-Zones to your account you have nothing to worry about. its not calculated as time used. You can get unlimited T-Zones for $4.99 a month. T-Zone usage is not calculated as text message time.
T-Zones uses something called WAP or wireless application Protocol.. txt uses SMS (simple message service)

If you do not have t-Zones aded and you would like it.. you can call customer care.. or add it your self at mytmobile.com

Hope that helps
