I was just looking at the phone upgrade option in the My T-Mobile part of the site and have just confused myself as to why anybody would use this feature...?
The online price for a Sony Network card was $199.99 or $99.99 after new account discount thing...
that same Sony Network Card under the Phone Upgrade option said it would cost me $219 with an added year onto my contract, or $279 without... this must just be an old price... or are they just trying to rip us off? Paying more than the suggested retail sprice does not exactly help me like they say it does on the site...

Im kinda in a similar situation as you, except that I just want a new phone (hopefully for free). Im going to go into one of the dealers by my house, probably tomorrow and see what they have to say. Ill report back with any new info

You have to have a Monthly Access fee of $39.99 or higher... I wonder if that includes taxes and extra services you have... my bill comes to about $60 each month... but I have a cheap Basic plan of just 300 minutes... $20 VPN Access, and $10 in taxes! Never realized how much taxes were... one 6th of the bill is taxes!

You hav eto be on a "Qualifying rate plan" meaning $39.99 or higher for ind. or $69.99 for a family time plan.. then the closer you get to a full 12 months of service the lower the cost is.
Taxes and features do not count.. only the rate plan.
( I was a customer care rep until yesterday.. I quit to go to work for Yahoo).

Call the tech support number, theyre really good. They should tell you what the prices of the phones are based on your specific plan and what upgrades you qualify for. I called and because my bill is only 29.99 each month, with no extras i got hardly any discounts. But it sounds like you are over the 39.99 each month so you should get more.

I have a question.... If I have been with t-mobile since it was omnipoint will they give me some sort of discount on a phone, since I have been a member so long?

yes they would give you a discount, and if you call and do it through customer care they will give you a better deal since you have been with them since the days of good ol' Omnipoint!
