The 2nd line user, my 'friend' who is NOT a signer on the account went in to buy a cell phone when his didn't work and they EXTENDED THE CONTRACT ONE YEAR AFTER THEY TRICKED HIM INTO USING MY NAME, the primary and sole signer on the account -- he only wanted to buy a phone but the shady salesperson might have seen that my contract was up in December.....MOREOVER and especially reprehensible, they didnt even extend the contract with the new amount of minutes offered for the monthly amont of 69.99. They left it at the old amount of 850 per month versus 1000 and THEY SAY HEY CAN DO NOTHING ABOUT IT FOR A year. The 5th Avenue Store, a corporate location, will not take reposnsibility iN any way for their shadiness. TMOBILE IS A SHADY TRICKY COMPANY WITOUT INTERITY THAT OfFERS LONG TERM CUSTOMERS NO RECOURSE. They do not care about anyonejus money . PROTECT YOURSELF--MAKE EXTRA SECURITY CODES ON YOUR ACCOUNTS,

Do all the cell phone companies stink like this?

tombq, I am sorry to hear about the unfortunate issue. I can try to clear a few things from what I read in your post. And Yes, you can get the extension reversed.

If your friend is able to verify your name and last four #'s of your social, then he can do anything he wants with your contract. He can add features, delete features, and even extend the contract. Retail store employees do not ask for I.D. unless the account holder has contacted T-Mobile and specifically requests us to do so. Also, the account holder can request that a password be verified for any type of access to the account. If anyone other than the account holder knows the password, last 4 digits of the social, and name, then the retail store employee is under the impression that they are dealing with the actual account holder.

It appears that you have a family time plan, with shared minutes. The reason your account was left at 850 minutes is because it appears that only 1 line was extended. In order for both lines to share 1000 minutes, for the same $69.99 per month, both lines will have to be extended at the same exact time. Therefore, if you choose to go ahead and extend your line to get the 1000 minutes, your friend's line will be extended again - they will both have the same contract end date.

As to what you can do - YES, there is something you can definately do. Take advantage of the 14 day remorse period. On your friends reciept, it says that Handset Upgrades may be returned with 14 days of the original date of purchase. Your must go to the same retail store with the original receipt, original phone w/ accesories, and the original packaging and un-do the 1 year extension. You will be required to return the phone in order to undo the extension. After that is done, your friend will be able to purchase a phone at full retail price without a contract extension.

If you don't believe that the retail store will refund the phone and undo the extension, contact customer care before heading out to the store. Explain to them that your friend did the extension without your authorization and that you don't want the upgrade. They will note your account and support you in going to the retail store. Keep in mind that this has to be all done with 14 days of the original date of purchase.
