Help - checking voicemail

does anyone know how i can check my voicemail but keep it as NEW? there's a SKIP function but when i skip messages, it SAVES them, setting them as saved messages. occasionally i want to keep messages as new if they are important and i don't feel like skipping through all of my saved messages to retrieve it.

i can't figure this out, thank you.

I don't think it is possible because as soon as you listen to it your voicemail won't recognize it as new and there is no option to change it back.
