Hey everyone... i've been a tmobile customer for almost 6 years now i think (give or take)

Anyways i just had the Razr and it broke... before that i had a Samsung E715

now im looking at these three, with my top choices being Sidekick and MDA.

Can you guys please give me some pros and cons before i go get it.

Im not really looking to surf the web, i have a laptop for that.
however i do like jingles like mp3 ringtones, games (waiting at airports etc) and massive contact storage space... i do about 400-500 outgoing texts a month - no more flip and txt...

    what do u guys think!?

personally i would grab the 8700g (free from wirefly) or the sda(also free or neer free) as they are high end "adult phones" vs the sidekick in my opinion is more of a toy

I have a Sidekick 3, and previously had a Sidekick 2. If you are interested in a device for applications and contacts, I would choose the Sidekick 3. It has a large (and growing) catalog of games, applications, and ringtones; a 2000 contact phone book, full qwerty keyboard that makes messaging a snap, and a built in mp3 player that runs off of music stored on a mini sd card. Unfortunately i've never used an MDA, but hopefully this information will help.

I was going to say get Blackberry or MDA but than you say you don't need a cell phone that could be used as a modem.

Since you like MP3, you better off with Sidekick 3 or MDA.

If you want traffic updates and you live in a top major city, you may want to get a MDA because Google just release a new maps for the mobile phone that includes traffic updates. It's available for MDA. You can go to Google website to get more information about it.

MDA is the best in features and in apps and in my opinion internet browsing. If you want simplicity and aim and web and mp3 player go for SK3. If you want good email and web the go for the Blackberry it's good for corporate workers because it has no camera.

Blackberry is awesome for business use. But if you want to have fun with the gadget, I'd pick Sidekick 3 myself.

I just got the SK3 a couple of days ago and I'm trading it in for the MDA. The MDA has a lot of games that you can find for download on the internet, you don't have to buy ringtones and the SK3 doesn't have an alarm clock! While I like the SK3 the MDA has a lot more to offer and I'm very jealous of my boyfriend all the time because of his choice to get one!

Why did you bring a old post back to life?

Well, since you did, I decided to remind everyone that I made a comparison chart for all the smart phones T-mobile make. It's available here.

Re: Sidekick 3 VS Tmobile MDA VS Blackberry 8700g

I'd go with the Sidekick 3 becuase the data plan is $20.00/month with unlimited text, web, and e-mail; and the Blackberries are $20.00.month, but only for web and e-mail. The MDA (or SDA for that matter) is $30/month and only for web and e-mail. Plus, I've heard that the MDA is prone to malfunctions. My T-Mobile store stopped selling it because every one they sold was returned. The Sidekick has a good media player, MUCH better interface than the other 2, and has a great keyboard for texting. You can get a lot of games from T-Mobile, but no 3rd party ones (not sure if that's really a difference.) And the catalogue also has a TON of ringtones. But you can't make your own. And it holds 2000 multi-number contacts.

    Not too shabby.

The games are limited on the Sidekick 3. While on the other smart phones, you can get 3rd party games.

There is a plan on Blackberry that gives you unlimited text messaging but no night and weekend minutes. You can check my comparison chart to get more information about the plans.

    Didn't I point that out???

And that plan with texting for the BB's are data only!

And why don't you shove that website of yours down out throats another sixteen times??? I really can't remember it. What's it again? I'm an idiot and can't read your bloody signature! My god, secrecyguy, tell me your website one more time!!!!!

I would personally go with the MDA. I had a iPaq H6315 which sort of similar and with the MDA you don't have to deal with Blackberry's BES, but you get more that just a toy with the MDA.
