I'm new to the whole phone upgrade thing, since I've had only two phones in the past ten years.

Here is my question, I want to change my Moto V600 for something comparable (beer broke the camera haha). But preferably a bit lighter.
I need Bluetooth, and want a camera and access to whatever is the new T-Zones equivalent, and a PDA type device would be great. I'm thinking about the SDA. But, I do really like Moto, but not sure if TMo offers any recent Razrs.
    Suggestions?
Oh, my two year family plan initial contract has expired.

Yeah I agree about the Sidekick, but if you need a more business like phone or want windows Mobile, I'd get the MDA, but the SK3 is $10/month cheaper for data.

Scott, if you like the razr, why not just get that? that auction site is abound with used unlocked ones, just pick one up that way and no need to renew your contract

Oh, and I've read somewhere that T-Mobile's getting a whole lot of new phones, specifically Blackberries. Let me try and find it. Anyways, There's a bunch of Samsungs coming out, such as the Samsung t519, t619, and so many more. I think the t519 is a bar, but I'll have to check, There's also the Blackberry Pearl (available Sept. 12), or 8100, basically a 7105 with a camera, MP3 player, and more fun things.

    Ahh. Here it is: http://cache.gizmodo.com/assets/reso.../tmophones.jpg
    And the Pearl: http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2006/0...ackberry-8100/

Good to hear. I'm considering an SDA, too, but I don't know whether to get that, a RAZR, PEBL, or something else. What are your thoughts?

Well Char - I've gone through those same options. I was happy with my V600 and generally like Moto products. However, I did not like the buttons on the RAZR & Pebl, and I've read that the antenna on the Pebl is not that great. I went to CNET.com to look at reviews and then talked with the guy in the T-Mobile store. All roads eventually took me to the SDA. As with all new phones, it will take getting used to. I like it so far, other than I bump the buttons when it's in my pocket. I also like the option of having a memory storage chip I can use in the phone and store things to. You may also want to check out the new BlackBerry Pearl I just noticed on the T-Mobile site - but unless you are going to use the phone with work email, a BlackBerry is probably not the right tool.

    Re: New good phones?

I've heard a bunch of things about the RAZR and PEBL. On PhoneScoop, I read that the PEBL has better reception than the RAZR, actually. As for the keypad I know it's different but not sure if it's necessarily easier to use. Other than that, the two are pretty much identical in terms of features.

Samsung's phones in that price range have better camera and MP3 players, but I can't stand Samsungs. They have these joke interfaces with rainbows and piano tunes and all and it drives me crazy.

As for the SDA, I'm not sure what it gets me. I need a phone with a camera, 900 MHz band, text, IM, and that's pretty much it. I'd kill for a Sidekick and use it to death and be buried with it along with all of its perhibials but I'm going to China this spring and T-Mobile's partners over there only use the 900 MHz band. If I could get a new Sidekick II which has that band, then I'd get that, but I don't know where to quite get that other than the masses of used ones on eBay that've been up there since the Sidekick 3 truck came around the block and blew its horn that attracts every single kid.

    Someone help me!
