Im on a Smart Access plan..not sure if you can add a line but if so would I have to pay the full price for a phone or the price a new customer would pay? Im not eligible for the lowest price on a phone if I were to just upgrade if that helps any.

    Re: Smart Access

Smart Access customers cannot add a line of service. Once you complete your 12 month commitment you can convert to a regular plan and add a line of service a month later. To convert you have to have not been suspended more than 2 times within that year.

You can purchase any phone at full price whenever you like.. The closer you get to the end of your contract the lower the prices of the phones get.

If the response to this thread wasn't so new, I wouldn't bother, but I feel compelled to correct the response, since I've been a SmartAccess specialist for over a year.

As of august 14th, T-Mobile SmartAccess customers are allowed to have up to two lines of service, as long as the two lines are combined into a family time plan. Depending on the customer's credit class they could be required to pay up to $75 in activation fees (if that high, it's nonrefundable) per line, and both will be under contract with a $200 ETF. When the year of service is up on the first line activated, the account can then convert to a regular class W account, and become eligible to have separate lines, or to add a third line with a $250 deposit.

The second line on the Smax account would of course get new-activation promotional prices on a phone, and the usual 14 day (or 30, if you're in CA) trial period.

Hope I'm not stepping on any toes, I know this is my first post.

That is correct...I looked into it and they told me I could add a line of service for 19.99

i'm sorry quik, but who told you that you could add a line for 19.99? If you are under smart access you can ONLY go to a family plan for a second line, unfortunately smart access members cannot add like a kid connect for example which would be 19.99 unless of course after your one year of service with on time payments you request to be taken off of the smart access plan and at that point i would call sales which you only have to have a 1 year agreement on the new line and get a better free phone usually as well

IS there an age limit on the smart access plan. Like do I have to be a certain age to get it?

You have to be 18 to sign up for service with T-Mobile, regardles of the plan.
I hope its obvious that my views do not express the views of T-mobile. Anything I say should be viewed as my own opinion & no reflection on the company I work for.
