Hi! My wife and I currently have a monthly plan with Cingular, but are planning to go to a prepaid plan because our usage is so low. T-Mobile apparently doesn't hit you with the $1/day used mobile 2 mobile access fee that Cingular would, so I'd like to move to them. The issue is, we'd both like to keep our current phones (Motorola V551 / LG C2000) and phone numbers when we go. Is this possible? Thanks in advance!

If your phones are unlocked, you can use them. I'm not familiar with the LG but the V551 will be great. If the LG supports both GSM 850 and 1900 you'll be fine.

As for porting, T-Mobile can port your number, no problem, as long as it offers local numbers in your rate centre.

    Thanks.
From what I've read, Cingular should unlock the phones at my request. The LG C2000 is a tri-band phone.
