Yeah, didn't think you would have anything intelligent to say after that.

I don't abuse power, we have superiors to report to, but when we have scammers like you abusing the wireless industry by giving out rebates to cheat the system and make YOU richer, that's where we come in and that's why forums have Moderators, to stop scammers like you.

xbwireless I think you need to take a deep breath and relax for a minute.

First of all, Tony is a very good guy and a very fair moderator. There is no reason to insult him. Call Phone Forums is a good resource site and there is no sense in getting yourself kicked out of here. You started picking a fight by telling him he needs to visit stores in New York. While I can tell you I LOVE Manhattan and haven't visited a cell store there in awhile; I can also tell you I live in LOS ANGELES and the practice of which you speak is not common practice in cell stores here in the nation's largest state. Indeed I have a friend who owns an large independent T-Mobile store in L.A. and he does not condone the practice you say is commonplace. Perhaps you need to visit some stores in California - again, the nation's largest state.

Secondly, I'd be curious to know whether your T-Mobile district manager (or whomever your contact is from T-Mobile) would concur that giving cash rebates to a customer is sanctioned by T-Mobile. My guess would be no.

As you point out, this is a forum and open dialogue is encouraged but there is also a need for civility. My recommendation is that you PM Tony and apologize for the harsh words. I'd like to encourage you to stay here because as a TMo agent you probably have a great deal of good information to share. But let's keep in mind that staying civil and constructive is the best way of keeping a good reputation here ... and you never know which of your customers might be reading your posts and might make their business decisions based on your professionalism (or lack thereof).

xbwireless I had a second thought about all this that I also wanted to share.

Some people visit other different forums. Some chap named "Ho" runs a bigger (but not better) "Fo" that a lot of people are familar with. You may have been there. A lot of kiddies hang out on that site and there is a lot of garbage there that passes for serious posting. The mods there are not very classy and don't do a particularly good job. I used to be active there. Bickering there is commonplace. Namecalling is standard bill of fare. It gets old.

Cell Phone Forums is different. We are more serious here and we try to be more courteous and helpful and civil to each other. The result is generally a smaller but more productive forum experience. I think if you hang around and tone down the penchant to argue, you might find the group here to be a really cool crowd. I hope you stay.

Its a mindset like that that gives indirect dealers their horrible reputation as the used car dealers of wireless. If you want to offer discounts thats your priority. To criticize a corporate store where constant fixing of indirect mistakes allows me to make my day go faster is just laughable. We do MUCH more than you, we have the ability to do much more than you. Is it controlled much more than you? Absolutely but at the end of the day we have the ability to play with numbers as well. Customer service provided in a corp store for T-mobile is second to none in the industry. Reps are so nice its almost surreal after moving from carrier to carrier, people find themselves shocked because we can genuinely smile without selling them something.

    Re: Moto Rizr Z3

back to the OP's topic....the difference between an unbranded RIZR from ebay and an official t-mobile branded RIZR:
--unbranded one not supported or covered by t-mobile's warranty.
--unbranded one will probably not support MyFaves (at least it wont have the myfaves interface)

latest news on the release of the rizr: it's delayed, it wont be coming out tomorrow like originally planned.

my 2 cents on the whole "indirect dealer, giving cash rebates" issue:
--Sure you can get a good deal that way (if the dealer stays in business and keeps their word) I've worked for t-mobile as a cust care rep, a retention rep, and now a Retail sales rep. When I was on the phones I must have taken at least 100 calls from people who were promised "rebates" from dealers and then call into t-mobile wanting their money...some people I talked to were given bad checks by indirect dealers.

    Sincerely,
    --Corey
