G1 by google question!!

hello, is g1 by google, a cdma or a gsm technology??

It works on GSM networks (850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 mhz bands), but only as 2G (voice, text messages, etc).

For 3G it works on HSDPA networks (2100 mhz band).

i dont get it.. i want to know if it works with a sim card? like.. to use it with other networks??

Yes, it uses a SIM card...but to use it outside the T-Mobile network you have to wait 90 days...after that you can ask them to have it unlocked.
(unlocked = you can use it with any GSM carrier SIM)

But there's always people who sell those phones unlocked and working, like with the iPhone ...ebay!

ok thank you!! i live in peru & im traveling to utah this december for four months and maybe ill get a g1 but only if i can use it here, so i need it unlocked.. tahts why i didnt understand all ur explanation ( i speak spanish, but my english is not so bad though) thank you for ur help. byeeeeeee

Do not worry within a week there will be an unlocking application put out.
