If by work you mean will it be able to make voice calls and use whatever data plans that are currently available in your area at current data speeds, then I'm sure the answer is yes.
If it were me and I was thinking of getting a phone that could use the
3G network, I'd hold off until it was available in the areas I use the phone.
Kinda like buying a jeep with a snow plow and you live in Miami, when you could wait until there's snow in Miami and buy that jeep.
Are they planning on rolling out
3G in your area soon? If not I'd wait, that way you can let everyone else work the bus out of the system, and pick up a phone later at a better price.
