sidekick on prepaid sim card?

Okay so my friend sold me a tmobile sidekick slide and it doesn't have a SIM card.

I really want to get this activated and get the prepaid sidekick plan for 1$ a day unlimited text and web access with 15 cent calls.



I went to the tmobile store and they said its 25 dollars to activate it, if I pay that 25 dollars will I have to pay more to put into my account right then and there or can I wait till I buy a prepaid card?



Also Im thinking about maybe buying a cheap tmobile phone then using the SIM card from that into my sidekick but then how will I be able to get the prepaid sidekick plan?

you wouldnt have to put money into the account right that minute but i would recommend doing it, or the phone wouldnt work for very long ebfore you needed to refill your account.

buying a cheap tmobile phone with a simcard would NOT work, when you activate a simcard on a prepaid service you need the activation number, which only comes in prepaid activation kits.

oh okay, but what if I buy one of those cheap prepaid nokia phones and use that SIM card in my sidekick, could I just use that prepaid plan for my sidekick until I switch over to the sidekick plan?

would be more effort than its worth, and to be honest i dont know exactly how hard it is to convert prepaid plans from one to another.

What you can do is go to eBay and get yourself a T-Mobile Prepaid SIM kit, probably $10.00 or so. Once you've got that, follow the directions on how to activate it (they should be on the sim card you get or they'll be on the T-Mobile site).

I have a T-Mobile Wing and I use the $1/Day Sidekick plan (shh). I don't get the unlimited instant messaging, e-mail, or internet like the plan promises. It kind of sucks the fun out of it, but I get the unlimited texting without the extra nonsense of having a plan.

Well go to tmobile with the phone and ask for a sidekick activation kit and tell them that you want to prepaid it..... But dont forget to ask for the sidekick activation kit and you shouldnt pay much dont worry you will already hav an account balance dependin on them
