Hello all. I'm brand new here and just signed up. I have some questions and hope one or some of you can shine some light on this issue.

I received my cellphone bill today. I looked at the grand total and realized my bill was 100+ dollars more than normal. I checked calls made and saw there were at least 20 calls made on Christmas Eve to one number registered in the UK. All calls varied in length but, were no more than 3 min apart. I never made any of these calls! To add insult to injury, I'm obligated to pay for the charges b/c it appears the calls were made from my phone, according to T-Mobile. My mom believes someone hacked my phone, bypassed my sim password and obtained my number. How in the world would someone do this? Would they need my physical sim card or just the cell number? I understand there are ways to hack into a cell towers mainframe and intercept calls via a backdoor virus or worm, right??

There is no one who's had open access to my phone and I sure as hell didn't give it out over the internet! Now, we did go on a cruise and I left my cellphone in our cabin on the charger. However, my cellphone was off to prevent roaming charges or anyone having access to my phone. Was there a way for someone to obtain information from my sim card? I've blocked international calls, but I sure I'll end up changing my number all together. Is there any way I can prevent having to do that and what measures could I take, if any, to prevent this from happening again?

Thanks
