T-Mobile USA customers, who have been patiently waiting for the next upgrade on their T-Mobile Motorola Defy, will have to wait no more. The T-Mobile Motorola Defy has upgraded from the Android 2.1 to Android 2.2 Froyo. UK customers received this update last week except for those who are on T-Mobile UK, in which still has the Android 2.1.

T-Mobile UK customers who were denied this privilege will no longer be denied, as according to T-Mobile UK's Twitter account page, the Android 2.2 Froyo update begin in July for those who received their phones in the UK.

As with any over-the-air update, this update may not hit everyone at the same time as it will be stagger out in phases.

via: the operator has taken to Twitter today to announce that that won’t be the case for long. It will be pushing out the Android 2.2 Froyo update to Motorola Defy smartphones it sold in the UK at the beginning of July. Since the literal beginning of July is in a week from now, that means that owners of TMo-branded Defy handsets in the UK only have a bit more waiting to do before they step into 2010, with their OS version at least. As this will be an over-the-air update, the rollout will be staggered, so even if it starts on July 1, not all Defy owners will receive it on the same day. Still, if you’ve waited this long, a few more days are nothing
