    I'm coming to the states in november and have an iPhone 3GS. I'm wanting to go on a T-Mobile plan while I'm over there. I know my phone isn't 4G capable so how slow will the 2G service be? I'll mainly just be using data for facebook, email and google maps. Will it be painfully slow or bearable?

    2G speeds should be fast enough for basic use, such as checking email, news, and Facebook, but don't expect to watch Netflix or download large files quickly.

    If your iPhone is compatible with T-Mobile's 3G network you should be able to get more reasonable speeds.
