Switching From Verizon to T-Mobile

My VzW contract expires in the next week or so and I'm going prepaid with T-Mobile. What do I need to do to tell VzW goodbye but keep my old number and move it to T-Mobile?

You just need to set things up with T-mobile after your contract expires with Verizon. They are obligated by law to transfer the number as long as all your bills are paid. Don't cancel with Verizon until things are setup with T-Mobile.

Thanks John, I don't want my month to month with VzW to kick in and not be able to back out though was also a concern. I can live a day or two without my phone.
