In checking various options for a hotspot, T-Mobile seems to have a lot to offer with their device and no-contract plan for 4G. Decent reviews. Their coverage map for Beaufort NC lists only 2 G availability.

Has anyone used this device in or around Beaufort NC?

I have a 3G Verizon phone that I could use tethering with.

Will only need access in Beaufort for 3 months. No streaming needed.

    Any thoughts/suggestions appreciated.

Tip - in NC it is Bo-fert, in SC it is Bu-fert. Same *****ing. Go figger......

So you're looking to connect a computer to a phone/hotspot device to browse the internet via cellular data, right?

That is correct. Will be checking email and wife will do a little surfing on tablets or laptops. Not heavy usage. The tethering with Verizon data packages may work as well as any hotspot. Verizon doesn't offer one that I can use for 3 months then be idle for 9 months. They are hung up on a data plan for the hotspot. Don't need it as there is data with my phone plan.

Yeah, they want you to buy a separate mobile hotspot data package for tethering (on the phone, if it has it), but there are ways around this depending on your phone, but it would require some knowledge of rooting and modifying things. You could just get the hotspot for 3 months and then cancel it. That would be the easiest thing to do.
