1. Nextel: Lousy customer service, strange charges on bill, high price, bad availablity
2. Sprint PCS: High Price, non-existant customer service
3. AT&T: Too many dropped calls, never a signal where you need it
4. PrimeCo: There's a reason they're out of business
On the other hand, T-Mobile has had consistenly good quality, very fair pricing, and any complaint I've ever had has resulted in a billing credit, additional minutes or SMS, or some other freebie.
My only gripe with T-Mo is that I get an SMS for each voicemail, rather than lighting up my voice-mail indicator. It's a nuisance to delete that each time.

Unhappy with T-Mobile
T-Mobile in the Denver, CO area has gotten noticibly worse in the past year. New dead spots where there weren't before......unfortunately where I live, work and in between. Unfortunately, this is where I spend 80% of my time. Had to go to Ft. Lauderdale, Miami, Key West to get good service.
Out here looking for a new service.
Regards,
Vinnie

i like t-mobile because most of my friends have tmobile so i always get free mobile-to-mobile minutes... and it's not that bad but sometimes there's too much static and calls fail sometimes.. but overall.. i'd like it better than verizon or cingular...

Well, I have T-Mobile, and i cant say much for it, because I never get any signal, but my mom whos on cingular, and friends that are on it, always have it....so i am probably going to switch to cingular or maybe even Nextel

If you never get any signal, you should have returned it during the trial period. Have you talked to Customer Service about this?

It's interesting to me because I had a terrible experience with Nextel (overcharged several months, and then they "lost" a payment although the check had cleared...). T-Mo has been good to me -- credits whenever there's a problem, billing is in order, and no incorrect charges in 18 months.

T-Mobile in New England
I've had T-Mo for a year now with a Nokia 3650, after three years with SprintPCS. I wanted a GSM phone and T-Mobile was the only operator who agreed to "unlock" my phone if I went with them. AT&T is just plain nasty, if you ask them if they will unlock a phone acquired through them.
Here, at home, I actually have better coverage than I did previously with Sprint... and that's saying something for a place like Maine, where there are a lot of moose, but not much cellular coverage!
I am constantly discovering "improvements" to the network and extensions of service to places I couldn't previously use the phone. So, they are good about upgrading their network.
When I've gone abroad, I can roam with their partners or I can buy a SIM from a local GSM provider and use my same phone in most countries.
(continued due to restrictions on message length...)

T-Mobile in New England (continued)
(continued from previous posting)
GPRS is another story! It's slow and not always available. I use my Palm Tungsten T3 with bluetooth to access email and the web. OK, but not great. I'd love to be able to stream audio, but both due to bluetooth and GPRS, the bitrate is so slow that nothing worth listening to is available. Although, streaming audio directly from the phone via GPRS ain't much better.
I'd recommend T-Mobile to anyone who lives in a good service area for T-Mo, but if you're looking for a faster data rate, I hear that Sprint G3 (or is it G4) is faster.
Good luck!

I am enjoying my service with T-Mobile. I never had any major problems with my service. I only had to contact support once because my t-zones service didn't work but they fixed it promptly.
The only thing I hate about T-Mobile is that you can't get rid of the operator logo on your phone's main screen, but I i'll ***** about that in the appropriate thread.
Overall, T-Mobile is a-OK!!!!
