AOL IM and MSN/Yahoo IM from Vision phone

I notice that I get text messages when a new message comes in on AIM,
even if I'm in the browser and looking at the one of the AIM screens. Am I
correct in assuming these count against my monthly bucket and cost money
if I go over? How do MSN and Yahoo IM work -- same way, or are they completely
web based? Is there any way to turn off new message notifications on AIM?

Yes, those AIM notifications count against your SMS bucket. I know=20
that, for my Yahoo IM, I do not get notified. I also know that AOL=20
has a way to turn those notifications off, but I don't know the=20
procedure.

Hm. I've tried all three. I'm not getting incoming messages from MSN.
Yahoo works, and AIM works. I like the SMS notification because you can't
receive incoming calls while the web browser is active. But the UI for
all of the Instant Messaging clients is a little clunky...

This is really no different from Verizon. I'm pretty sure the only
web-enabled Verizon IM client is MSN, which makes sense since Verizon and
MSN are in bed together (did you notice that if you exit out of MSN Messenger
you go to a page that says "VZW with MSN"?) AOL uses SMS exclusively on
Verizon's system, and it actually works amazingly well.. (OK, there is one
big difference, you can get SMS notifications on Sprint but you still have
to fire up the web browser to *read* the messages.)

the notification txt from AIM, isn't count towards ur txt msgs

i callled sprint about that, they sed it doesn't, its only notification
