Hi

NOPE..I JUST FOUND OUT THAT IT IS TRUE..TOO BAD FOR YOU
it says in this forum --http://cellphoneforums.net/t144036.html
this is what they say:

1st email reply:

TELUS Mobility has opted to disallow the use of 3rd party applications due to the amount of hardware and software conflicts that have occurred in past experiences. This enables TELUS Mobility to ensure that our subscribers will receive what we advertise with quality assurances.

2nd email reply:

Thank you for your reply. I have checked further with our Data and Network Assistance Department and was advised that TELUS Mobility does offer a USB cable for hook up to the internet. This cable may be purchased at any of our TELUS Mobility Data Dealers. Currently TELUS Mobility does not support picture***** uploading to your computer through a USB cable

BUT im really curious about ur products..seriously.
i wud buy one right away as i said before, if its 100% assured that it works, despite these Telus' words.

thephonemall, how did you manage getting it working?
did u guys change code inside the phone or something?
cauz that cable was exactly what i was waiting for. thanks

and btw how much was the cable for? (it was 39 or 49 bucks i guess, but is it CAD or USD?)

Of course Telus doesn't "Support" using free data transfering when they get paid if you use their method.

"Not Support" doesnt mean "Doesn't exist" They will not support it by witholding the information and software on how to do so. I used to work for Telus and would listen to the regional dealer reps propogate to other employees that "there are no cables to let customers transfer pictures"

A data cable bypasses any restrictions of the Phone as you access the phone's filesystem itself. Just like your Windows Explorer.

How do you think your software got on the phone in the first place? Through a non-existant data port? Don't think so.

The Phone Mall is launching a mobile phone resource and community on January 1st. You'll be able to access tutorials and much more there.

So, with my Kyocera KE424c, even if telus doesn't support the cables, I should be able to upload ringtones and wallpaper to my phone??

Maybe your problem is with the driver/software. My girlfriend got a Nokia too (from bell) and bell sold them the DKU-5 cable, but she can't get it to work. I still have to check it for her, but don't have any free time recently =X
