I've been looking at these new slim phones with functionality like the moto V3x and the SCH-v740, etc.
I was wondering if anyone knew what phones such as these would be released in China by the Fall and would be compatible to be hooked up to Canadian Telus Service.
I'm also open to other phones that are compatible they could be Convergent devices or Larger PDA type phones.
Thanks for the help!

make sure that the phone your looking is cdma phone. telus is a cdma network and if the phone you looking is gsm phone it's not gonna work.
cdma don't have simcard and gsm have simcard.

Re: Telus Compatible Overseas phones
Hi decypher,
were you able to find a cool/slim phone that you wanted and use it on the Telus mobility network? I am also interested in doing the same thing, but I am worried about buying a phone that will not work. I am currently with telus and I have 1 year left in my plan and my phone will probably die within the next 10 days (ringer is dead, and only works with headset now). can you let me know how I can find a good cool/slick phone that is compatible with telus? I am interested in nokia or sony erricson models
Thanks!

Re: Telus Compatible Overseas phones
I'm in the same boat as the previos person. One year left on 3 year obligation but the phone I have sucks. I don't really like anything that Telus is currently offering in Ontario.
Will the new Nokia N series phones or the Nokia 8801work with Telus. Also how do I go about activating the phone with my current phone #?
Thanks.

Re: Telus Compatible Overseas phones
Sadly, even if you find a CDMA version of those phones, Telus will not let any phone with a serial number that is not registered on their systems (ie. a current or previous Telus phone) be activated on their network. I've heard some people will go so far as to register it as an unknown analog handset, but that will disable MMS services like text messaging.
Sorry to be the bearer of bad news.
