i930, i605

does anyone know when the i930 and the i605 are being released in canada the i605 has been out for months with nextel why is it not at telus yet

Do not even worry about it, just get a used one from ebay for like 250 cdn. thats shipped to your door, BTW: its also unlocked so it will work here, and if you get a new one just have it unlock for about 70 USD. I am awating my unlocked i605 from ebay.

the unlocked phones on ebay, or anywhere else, specify that they only work with nextel or boost provider services in the states.

i believe Telus is linked to nextel, but have not heard of them releasing the phones.

if the phone is unlocked, does it still need a sim card and if it is specifically nextel, it will not work with Rogers/Telus/Fido etc.... right? ....

WTF: where did u see that they only work with nextel or boost? how is telus linked to nextel? what have you heard? BTW: its a IDEN phone. NO rogers or telus or fido (mind you all ****ty CDN networks) will not work on the i605

Don't buy an i605 from MGBURNS on ebay, he can't get it unlocked... he was simply assuming he could and started advertizing the phones as "unlocked" but they really are nextel only. First step is to find somebody who is sure he can unlock the i605 and get a price for the service THEN order a new or used i605 from the US.

As for the i930 it CAN be unlocked... very few people can do it, but it is possible because I know somebody on another forum who has an i930 unlocked.

Update... i605's are available unlocked. In fact that's the phone I'm using now temporarily.
