How to switch from Telus to Rogers and still keep my number?

My contract with telus is up and they're telling me that I have to sign a three year contract renewal just to keep my number?!?! And they say I can't switch to another provider either if I want to keep the number.

I just thought... wtf. Are they screwing with me or is it actually like this?

Not true.. i'm quite sure you misunderstood something. you can continue as a month to month subscriber once your contract is done and everything will remain as it was. As for switching to another provider and keeping your number... no it is not possible at this time. However, number portability will be available probably late this year.. early next year.. can't say for sure when but it's comming..

Why are you leaving telus anyway? they are by far the best provider in canada and you can get a sweet renewal deal on a 3 year term if you hound loyalty and retention a bit.
