Want to use SD Card Mp3's as Ringtones.?

Im with telus and have an LG 535 Phone. i would like to use my own mp3's as ringtones played off of my SD Card?

is this possible, i heard something about unlocking the phone to do this?
can anyone provide any information, links or tell me how i can do this?

if i was to unlock the phone, would this cause any problems with using it or any hiccups down the road? what are other benefits of unlocking phones?

Although possible, this could be very dangerous. Telus could block your ESN for changing your firmware. Also you may encounter a problem durring the process which will totaly wreck you phone. This also voids your warranty. I would not suggest doing this but it is possible. You should search google.

Knowing this..i think i probably won't be doing it!

after looking into a mini sd card, the wire i'd need to update my phone and the rest of it. it'll be cosing me well over $100.00.. thats a lot of ringtones i could download! iw ill never use my phone as an mp3 player. i just want the ring tunes!

I don't have the lg 535, I have the razr v3 but I am also with telus - just wanted some help on getting my mp3 songs to play as ringtones, or finding away to not pay $3.50 for each ringtone. can you help?
