It is not a code, it is a program. Look around the net, read the forums, and you will find out what a joy Nokia is compared to motorola to play with.

Negative sides for me are the low volume on the earpiece (you better buy the special bottom-connecting adaptor if you want to listen to mp3's) and some issues finding the proper case.

It is fairly easy to unlock all the features locked by TELUS, by using Diego software. The instructions are out there (in this same forums).

    Cheers!
Still havn't figured out the volume coding on this thing, but a buddy of mine was playing with the numbers in d'ago and got his volume to come up. I did find that the earpiece on the side works fairly well, and it also doubles as the antenna for the radio (as long as you don't mind listening to it through the phone speaker).

Eh....Radio reception is quite better with earpiece pluged in. I guess it depends on the quality of earpiece too. I got mine off eBay for 2 bucks, and so far any crowded place is overshouting my music. As for me, mp3 playback is not essential feature of this phone, so I am happy with what I got. But thanx for the story about your buddy, I'll see maybe I can figure out the way to get it a bit louder.

    Cheers!

    • The touted 2 megapixel camera is pointless due to the orange-spot problem (well documented in other forums.) I don't expect to do family portraits on a cell-phone cam, but who wants ANY photo with a big orange stain in the center?
    • The slide is annoying and a bit too loose. Normal phone use and keying activities cause it to move too much. And unlike Nokia's high-end sliders, this one has no viable thumb-point to make it easy to open and close (the tiny ridge tacked-on below the display screen is virtually useless with adult-sized hands.)
    • Tough to find a decent case for it. The mfr's website does not seem to offer a dedicated case for it, and the aftermarket accessory companies are mainly marketing products to fit either Motorola's & Samsung's flat/slim flips, or the common egg-shaped flips. A case for this phone is essential due to the always-exposed display screen and camera lens, and a proper fit and design are important to prevent always yanking open the slide while pulling the phone out of the case with two fingers.
    • Earpiece and ringer volumes are barely adequate for use out in the noisy urban world, and microphone placement on the underside of the phone gives my outgoing voice a muddy/echoey sound compared to a conventional flip with the mic placed directly in front of the mouth.

It doesn't seem that the major US CDMA carriers have adopted the 6265i and you won't find any reviews on it on cnet.com (at least not as of this date) -- guess those should have been my first cues.

I dont really see what you are saying, because i got the phone a few months ago, and it was the best phone i ever bought. The camera works better then any other camera phone i ever seen, and it takes full size pictures so when you send them to a computer they are not small and blurry.

I got a nice case that clips on a belt and the top flips up and the phone lays sideways in it. when its closed there are little magnets that keep it closed.

i never saw a problem with the slider part, i thought it was fine for me.

to me, the ringer is pretty loud... when its on loudest, its pretty loud. and the microphone is fine in the possition that its in... so i dont know.... i think its a great phone except for the fact that i have been told i cant get it unlocked, which sucks because i just bout it and im moving and the service i had doesnt have service where im moving.

If anyone knows if its possible to unlock it to work with Cingular, please let me know. [email protected] Thanks.

Well I'm getting it for Christmas. LOL it's my gift for the holiday season. From the sound of it, it seems like any other phone, some pros some cons. Sound isn't really an issue since I don't use my phone for MP3 etc, just for work. The camera is what I'm really looking forward too. I would like to ask how the bluetooth is on this phone. Anyone having problems with it? I would like to use a handsfree dashbord kit or an ear piece.

Im not sure how the bluetooth on this phone is, since i cant use it anymore.... but i know on the 6255i it didnt work well at all, i had everyone telling me they couldnt hear me on the headset.

As for the camera, i love it. i sent a picture to my email and was able to print out an 8x10 copy of it with it just being a little blurry... 4x6's and 5x7's were clear, unlike most camera phones.

    hope this helps a little.

Hmmm that doesn't sound to good for the bluetooth. I really did want a bluetooth handsfree set. I guess I will have to just do it by trial and error and see what it's like. I'm a delivery person and need both hands on the wheels etc.

Yea, it was a pain. the 6265 might work better with it though since its new, or it may have been the model of headset i got, even though it was a nokia one. i forget what model it was... i got it at best buy because it was only 10 dollars, down from i think 50 or 60 for the fathersday sales... i was able to take it back and get my money back anyway, so be carful when you open it and then you could return it if it doesnt work out or somthing.
    Anyway, good luck.

I'm thinking of using the Carbo Scala 500 head set, which has this nifty Versa Clip? on it that clips to your glasses or sunglasses, with out having to wrap it around your ear. Since I wear glasses it sounds like a good idea.

I had no problems with bluetooth whatsoever. Works perfectly. And the camera is really good. Just to illustrate: go to youtube.com and search for a video: lamp dance. There are a bunch of them, but the one you need is with the normal (black) desk lamp and monitor in the background. I made it out of boredom at work using only 6265i camera (low rez pictures) and bluetooth to transfer pics from phone to computer.

Got it! When I tried to put mp3s and the likes as my ringtone it didn't work. But if you use quicktime player to convert it to a 3g2 movie you can then set it as your ringtone when you transfer it to your phone. I'm not sure but quicktime pro might be requred. I haven't found any alternatives to this method.

There is other way. It is long, and involves breaking the phone's datafile system, but it works like a charm. it is describer in this forums under the tread: Nokia 6265i ringtone help *Telus Mobility*

Re: Telus Finally has the Nokia 6265i

    Ok guys.

I will help relieve this agony of unlocking the Nokia 6265i.

I just like many of you have noticed that we are unable to use our own mp3s as the source for our ringtones.

Now i know they want to make money however by making us believe that we have features on our phones that we can't actually utilize without buying their mp3s from their wireless web is just wrong.

Here is my workaround to get your 'mp3' files to act as your ring tone.

    1) Download the Nokia Suite - register on the nokia website and they will email you a registration code.

    2) learn to use the Nokia Multimedia player.

    3) Open up an mp3 file with the Nokia Multimedia player.

    3) Click on File - Save as - and save the mp3 file as an 3gp

3GP is a video format that is playable on the nokia 6265i.

After you create the 3gp file download / transfer this to your memory card or transfer is via bluetooth to your phone.

Then choose a contact and customize it to show a video when you receive a call ....then you select the 3gp file you created from the mp3. Although this down not actually have video you will now notice that the file plays the audio....in the very same manner an mp3 would.

TADA. This gets around the software lock. Cause honestly who cares if it shows a little video icon when the next caller rings your phone. You can get the audio mp3 to play by using the 3gp file!

There are no restrictions on the phone for use of the video and i can tell you it works because i have CCR tunes set for most of my rings!!

If you would like more info or need clarification email me! [email protected]

This should definately help out all those people frustrated with the lock on mp3 use on this phone. Plus this method won't void your warranty or anything of the sort and best of all its free!! ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!
