Contract and new phone

I currently have a LG 5450 and I'm almost halfway through my 3 year conract (one month till I'm at halfway done). I've had nothing but problems with this phone, they've taken it in to be fixed but I'm still having problems. Sometimes I don't recieve phone calls, txt messeges and voicemails. There are more problems but I will leave them out. My question is, what are my chances of getting a newer model cell phone from them at a discounted price. I've had my eye on the new Nokia 6265i but I'm not ready to spend $300 on it. Am I S.O.L on this one?

Re: Contract and new phone

I'm afraid the likelihood of getting a discount is pretty slim at this point. Sometimes they give month-to-month $100 credits or above if the phone has been in twice or more for repair, but usually when the phone is still under warranty. If you spend ridiculous amounts on your phone bill they might consider an early renewal on your contract. It's worth a shot in any case; call Client Care and see if they'll do anything, if not ask for Loyalty and Retentions--they have a bit more wiggle room for applying credits/renewals.

Good luck! (Also, go with the Samsung 950 instead of the Nokia 6265i if you want a more reliable phone).

If you want out of your contract, try cellclients.com. I'm one of the developers of the website and we are currently giving the service for free and are asking for people's feedback....take a look and let me know how you felt.
Thanks,
B

Don't get a 6265i, it's horrible.
My advice is switch companies since Telus is crap, and just keep complaining via email and phone until they give you something else for free. I tried calling myself once with my sister's Telus phone to mine, it said I missed a call before it even rang, vibrate, or lit up.
