Disabled Bluetooth (disabled) MIKEs (i880)

Hi,

I just resently bought a Motorola i880 and currently using the Mikes network with telus. I tried to send a file to my friends handset and it wouldn't work (via bluetooth). so I called telus and asked them why....

Telus Rep replied "telus has disabled bluetooth sending, due to copyright problems"... she refered to copyright laws on ringtones...

I asked her how to send pictures (not copyrighted) to my friends using bluetooth and she replied back saying "your handset can't distinguish between copyrighted material and uncopyrighted material, hence telus blocks all bluetooth sending"... "blah blah... pay X amount to use their stupid email systerm.... blah blah".


personally i think this is retarded, even though all i really want to do is send pictures of videos from my handset to my pc or friends phone.

I am aware of the USB cable and i am currently awaiting one from ebay.

* Does anyone know any unlock codes for telus and bluetooth sending using the Mikes Motorola i880 phone??

I dont have a clue who mike is, but take a look at my Iden Links sticky

Mikes is from telus.. they use a different network which has like a huge local area ranging from like oshawa to oakville (ontario)

I did look through that thread you posted, however i couldn't find much about sending through bluetooth...

telus to telus via bluetooth works!!!

i tried my i880 to my friends i870.. and it worked...

however i don't htink it works with rogers ... i tried a blackberry perl (8100) with my phone and it didn't work..
