I recently signed a 2 year contract with Telus and got a Samsung SCH-u510 phone with it, but I recently had the phone stolen on me. Having been unable to find it, I need to get myself a relatively decent phone to replace it, but there's no way I'm spending 200+ bucks just to get a phone that I just spent a bunch of money on already. What's my best "bang for my buck" route, here? Can I just go to Wal-Mart and get a prepaid phone, then put my plan on it?

Re: Lost phone, brand new contract
Yes you can buy a prepay phone and then assign it to your month-month account (although there may be a grace period). You can also take a look in places like the local newspaper classifieds, Craigslist or e-bay; you can often find phones that are for sale on there. Just make sure you get the ESN from the seller and check it with Telus (contract issues, stolen phone, etc.) before buying it.
Hope this helps.
