I HATE Telus! Help with getting out of the stupid contract!!

I hate Telus.

Just got a bill for $245 because their system was messed up....spent 40mins on hold on the phone...long story short...I have HAD enough!!!: flamemad:

How do I get out of the contract!? I have 6 mths left but my fiance (we're on a family plan) has another 2 years!!!

I hate to tell you this, but if you're looking for a cellular company where the scenario you are describing won't happen - you're not going to find one. I have experience with all of Bell, Telus, Rogers and Fido and you'd be just as likely to get frustrated with any of the others. If you're located in Western Canada and travel at all within that region and even into the states, then Telus is as good or better than the rest. Sorry not to have better news for you.

Additionally, if your wife has that long left on her contract, just wait it out and simply carry forward without a contract renewal for yourself, until either getting out of hers or making the decision to renew, puts you both on the same timeline. Service offerings, coverage, phones, etc. will have all changed by then.

telus is nothing but a rip off and a scam...i just didn't pay them in the end and i ended up in collections, but now i'm with rogers and they are the best company to be with in my opinion

It's really not that bad. I have never experienced any billing issues.

I haven't either. Whenever i DO talk to them (Which is like once a year) they always seem to be trying to save me as much money as possible.

If you're really unhappy with them, i would wait it out like lmcbain says. Getting outta the contracts is pretty easy, but not cheap. You have to do a payout, which in my opinion isn't worth it. 2 years goes by pretty fast sometimes.

Telus customer service is probably one of the best in the world. They are ALWAYS friendly whenever I call in. They never hang up the phone if the problem isn't fixed -- no matter what the problem.

If you really want to get out of your contract, you're in luck. I believe the Telus fee is something like $300. I know many other carriers around here charge a lot more than that.

I also agree with WickedIsis, I ALWAYS choose a 2 year contract rather than a 3. It's worth the $100 extra you MIGHT pay for your phone.

Well, i do tend to get the 3 year contracts, but they always let me get a new phone before the contract is up, lol. So cheaper phone for like 6 months extra contract time. Fine by me
