Well the title pretty much says it. I have searched A LOT of forums and threads and I went to a 'known' place that is 'hacking' phones. They flat out told me that Fido and Rogers no problem but they couldn't do Telus yet...
Is it true?
It seems after many searches that most people have not been able to do it, or maybe it is NO people, it is hard to tell sometimes. I have seen MANY methods suggested including the most popular
BitPim but then a lot of these threads are old which is another reason I posted this. Other possible methods:

Overwrite a current ringtone...

Email yourself a message with shunken song with .mid extension as an attachment....I don't think this will work on current phones.

I have the Samsung U540 for the record, not a bad phone for free but this not being able to use your own songs as ringtones is complete stupidity
They try to use the lame copyright excuse if asked and then you see all the
PDA phones like the blackberrys WILL allow YOUR mp3 ringtones proving the copyright thing is a LOAD of crap, these are out-and-out BELL tactics to rob you of your money, not impressive to say the least.
Sorry to ramble, back on topic. Has anyone had ANY success on a RECENT Telus phone, please share???!!!
