Lost Telus Blackberry Pearl

I lost my blackberry pearl a couple of days ago some how and called it a couple times around the places I had been hoping I might here it... It would ring in the phone yesterday but now when I call it I get a response that say "19T3 the customer you are trying to reach is currently not available." Does this mean that my battery or dead or something worse I don't have voicemail. Thanks.

Also what are my options if I needed to purchase a new phone could i down grade to a non-data phone even though I have a data plan on contract fr 2 more years?
